In a 2011 survey, Ontarians rated TVO as the “most trusted” and the “most educational” media brand for children in Canada. We take this role very seriously and are committed to developing innovative media applications that help Ontario’s kids arrive at school ready and excited to learn.
At TVO we believe that an engaged citizenry is fundamental to a functioning democracy. Whether on TV, online, in public, on mobile or in communities across the province, we’re playing an important role in getting people thinking about, talking about, and engaged in the ideas that are shaping our province and the rest of the world.
I invite you to visit TVOKids.com, TVOparents.com, tvo.org and our public archive at archive.tvo.org to explore the many ways TVO is making a difference. You’ll discover how digital media is helping us deliver on our commitment to helping kids become better learners, increasing the involvement of parents in their children’s education, and enabling citizen engagement in the province.
None of this is possible without the support of TVO’s growing community of donors. While we are funded primarily by the Province of Ontario, we rely on the generosity of sponsors and of thousands of people across the province who share our belief in the power of educational media to be a positive force for good.
Has TVO made an impact in your life? Have you or your children been inspired by something you’ve seen on TVO? Do you have ideas on how we can make a bigger difference to life in Ontario? My email address is lisa@tvo.org and I would be delighted to hear from you!
