Nominations for the inaugural Canadian Screen Awards are out and TVO is excited to announce 17 nominations for in-house and co-produced programs and digital content and an additional three for a TVO acquisition.  The Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television’s new Canadian Screen Awards recognize excellence in film, television and digital media productions. TVO is proud to be recognized for quality educational programming that’s made right here in Ontario.

In the running for a Canadian Screen Award are five TVOKids productions and seven TVO documentaries. TVOKids’ very own Gisèle of Gisèle’s Big Backyard is nominated for Best Host in Pre-School, Children’s or Youth Program or Series.  Other highlights include nominations for the prestigious Donald Brittain Documentary Award for The Market  and The Prosecutor.  This recognition is truly a testament to the strength of our kids and documentary programs.

Congratulations to TVO’s production partners and staff and best of luck at the live broadcast ceremony on March 3.
