In keeping with TVO's vision to empower Ontarians to be engaged citizens, TVO’s Get Involved initiative celebrates volunteerism and the value of community engagement. Get Involved features a series of short docs, produced by q media solutions, that aim to motivate people to effect positive change in the world. There’s also an interactive online hub at Getinvolved.ca that connects people with volunteer opportunities that suit their individual interests and skill-sets. We’re fortunate to have Manulife Financial as the sponsor of this exciting program.

The documentaries, which air in primetime between programs on TVO and are available at Getinvolved.ca, profile people from 7-70 who are making a difference in their communities. The portraits give people hope for the future, inspire them to get involved and demonstrate the value of volunteerism and an active, engaged citizenry. Some of the Ontarians profiled in Get Involved include: Blake Goldring, a CEO who has created a social safety net for soldiers on active duty; Seana O'Neill, a former film producer and founder of a cancer support organization; and Amanda Belzowski, a 10‐year‐old lemonade stand titan who has raised over $100,000 for a cause dear to her heart. We thank Manulife for supporting TVO to bring these stories to you. We look forward to a productive partnership as Ontarians make a commitment to get involved.
